Nexcity Apps is an independent, ground-up initiative I built to digitize my village and grow it into a smart city ecosystem. It was driven by the lack of up-to-date local information and the need for a unified platform that modernizes community management and engagement.
How the Platform Works
As superadmin, I onboard neighborhood units (RTs) as partners and register service providers—mosques, schools, and MSMEs—each with distinct responsibilities:
- Mosques: manage charitable funds (zakat, infaq, sadaqah, waqaf) and Qurban offerings.
- MSMEs: track sales and manage inventory.
- Schools/Institutions: student enrollment and financial reporting.
- RTs: membership data, dues/contributions, and community programs.
- Residents: personal accounts for announcements, welfare programs, dues, complaints, and more.
Impact & Adoption
While still in active development, Nexcity has been implemented in two mosques and five RTs, demonstrating tangible benefits in coordination, transparency, and record-keeping.
Technology & Role
- Role: Full-Stack Developer (end-to-end design, build, deployment, and onboarding).
- Stack: Backend with Yii2 (PHP); Frontend with Vue.js and Bootstrap; interactions using jQuery/AJAX/PJAX; data on MariaDB.
Goal
Unify critical community features into one centralized, auditable platform so services are faster, traceable, and convenient for residents and administrators alike.
Status
In progress — iterative releases based on real-world feedback to keep the product simple, relevant, and friendly for non-technical users.
